New Features of Isopro 2.6 |

This month, I want to review some of the useful information that can be found under the Preferences menu item in IsoPro. As a frame of reference, I am using IsoPro version 2.6, build 126 for all examples referenced in this column. To open preferences, first click on EDIT at the top of the screen…then locate PREFERENCES near the bottom of the list and open PREFERENCES. Locate the tab MACHINE SETTINGS and open ….there are parameters under this tab that can affect the overall operation of your Quick Circuit hardware. First, let’s look at the setting for the type of Quick Circuit you are using. In the upper left hand portion of the window is the MACHINE MODEL selection. When you click on this selection, you will see a drop down menu of machine choices. This setting determines the bed size of your system. It determines the size of the rectangle you see on the IsoPro screen. The rectangle represents the total work area of the system you are using. When you are working with an IsoPro file, your design must be located inside the rectangle or work area of the machine. I have taken calls from users who decided to modify the bed size for various reasons. If you have altered the bed size setting manually and need to reset it to the correct value for your machine, simply choose your machine type from the selections under MACHINE MODEL and the correct bed size values for your system will be restored. Also, under the MACHINE SETTINGS tab, you will notice the COMM PORT selection. This is where you make your port selections for your particular PC. Included with traditional COMM PORT selections, you will note the addition of USB. The USB connectivity is a recent addition to IsoPro and Quick Circuit. Below the COMM PORT setting is the STEPPER MOTORS selection, another new addition to IsoPro. If you have not upgraded your system to the hi-speed stepper motors, you must ensure you have selected StdStepper (60 in/min). Otherwise, your system will not run reliably. If you select HiSpeed, you will see a warning notice. If you have not upgraded your system to utilize the hi-speed stepper motors, do not use this setting as errors will occur that will adversely affect registration. Next time, I’ll cover other features of the newest version of IsoPro. If you have a suggestion or request for this column, please send it to Ron here. |
